Kate Middleton looks festive in holiday-ready tartan coat
‘Tis the season to don tartan.
Kate Middleton has a closet full of envy-inducing coats, including a festive, holiday-ready Black Watch tartan coat that she wore to a special ceremony at Westminster Abbey late last week.
The Princess of Wales ushered in the holiday season by dedicating a tree in Queen Elizabeth II’s honor in the Dean’s Yard, bundled up in a Holland Cooper double-breasted coat ($907).
The mom of three, 40, paired the Christmas coat with a matching green turtleneck sweater and midi skirt, both by Iris & Ink, and custom navy Gianvito Rossi suede boots.
A plaque to identify the tree reads, “This wild cherry tree, a gift from the Duchy of Cornwall, was dedicated in memory of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales on 14th December 2022.”
Westminster Abbey posted photos of the Princess of Wales planting the tree to mark the memory of Her Majesty.
The green and blue style is a favorite plaid for the princess, as she has a similarly festive Black Watch coat from Alexander McQueen, which she originally wore in 2012 before donning it again in 2019 for a visit to the V&A Museum.
The ceremony isn’t Kate’s first holiday event this season; She hosted the “Royal Carols: Together at Christmas” holiday concert, an event that took place amid the ongoing drama surrounding the “Harry and Meghan” Netflix special.
For the annual event, Middleton and her family opted for coordinating shades of maroon and navy, with Kate twinning with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, 7, in matching coats. Prince William tied to the women with a maroon tie and wore the same style navy overcoat as son Prince George, 9.
